After updating my iPhone, one app I use almost every day started crashing as soon as I opened it. There was no warning or error message — it just closed itself. I assumed it was an app bug, but it turned out to be easier than I expected.
This is the order I tried things in.
First, I force‑closed the app completely and reopened it. That didn’t help.
Next, I restarted my iPhone. This alone fixes a lot of small issues after updates, but in this case, the app still crashed.
Then I checked the App Store manually. Even though auto‑updates were on, the app itself had a pending update. After installing it, the crashing happened less often, but it didn’t disappear entirely.
What finally fixed it was deleting the app and reinstalling it. Once I logged back in, the app opened normally and hasn’t crashed since.
If this started happening right after an iOS update, reinstalling the app is worth trying before doing anything more drastic.
